TITLE: Unsigned Iowa 931, Linn County, Iowa

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 931 begins at the junction of Iowa 13 approximately 1650 feet south of Coggon, Iowa, and travels northwesterly and easterly via Coggon to another junction of Iowa 13 approximately 400 feet east of Coggon, Iowa.

In accordance with a jurisdiction transfer agreement and intersection lighting agreement between Linn County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved as part of Commission Order Number 78‑576 on April 18, 1978 the following described sections of Unsigned Iowa 931 will revert to the Linn County Secondary Road System effective upon approval of this resolution.

That portion of Unsigned Iowa 931 beginning approximately 200 feet north and 2300 feet west of the SE Corner of Section 10‑T86N‑R6W (south junction Iowa 13) northwesterly and northerly to the south corporation line of the City of Coggon, Iowa, and from the east corporation line of the City of Coggon, southeasterly through Section 10‑T86N‑R6W to a point approximately 1150 feet south and 1150 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 10‑T86N‑R6W (north junction Iowa 13).

In accordance with agreement number 77‑6‑055 between the City of Coggon and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved May 13, 1977, the following described section of Unsigned Iowa 931 will revert to the city street system of the City of Coggon, effective upon approval of this resolution, that portion of Unsigned Iowa 931 beginning at the south corporation line of the City of Coggon, northerly and easterly to the east corporation line of the City of Coggon.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that Unsigned Iowa 931 in Linn County he deleted from the Primary Route System effective upon approval of this resolution as referred in the attached detailed description.

Remove Unsigned Iowa 931 and its extensions in Linn County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 200 feet north and 2300 feet west of the SE Corner of Section 10‑T86N‑R6W (south junction of Iowa 13); thence in a northwesterly and northerly direction through Section 10‑T86N‑R6W to the south corporation line of the City of Coggon connecting with an unnamed street.

Coggon:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly and easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Coggon connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 10‑T86N‑R6W (north junction of Iowa 13) to a point approximately 1150 feet south and 1150 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 10‑T86N‑R6W.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

The now alignment of Iowa 13 in an area near Coggon in Linn County has created Unsigned Iowa 931 and should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Unsigned Iowa 931 begins at the junction of Iowa 13 approximately 1650 feet south of Coggon, Iowa and travels northwesterly and easterly via Coggon terminating at another junction of Iowa 13 approximately 400 feet east of Coggon, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Unsigned Iowa 931 and its extension in Linn County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 200 feet north and 2300 feet west of the SE Corner of Section 10‑T86N‑R6W (south junction of Iowa 13); thence in a northwesterly and northerly direction through Section 10‑T86N‑R6W to the south corporation line of the City of Coggon connecting with an unnamed street.

Coggon:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly and easterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the city of Coggon connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 10‑T86N‑R6W (north junction of Iowa 13) to a point approximately 1150 feet south and 1150 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 10-T86N-R6W.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 931 in Linn County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
